Home fire peer presenters:

The office of housing is requesting our help to organise home fire peer presenters from the public tenants, across the north and west metropolitan region.
The project can assist with a flyer to distribute locally, interpreters, a contribution towards morning or afternoon tea and two public tenants trained in Certificate III in Community Safety to present current and relevant information about home fire safety.
The peer presenters are undertaking a refresher workshop next week with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, the Country Fire Authority and new peer presenters from the Southern Region after which they would really be keen to present to your public tenant community.
To express your interest in having the peer presenters come out to your local group in the North and West Metropolitan Region, contact me directly
on the numbers below - I am keen to draw up a timetable as soon as possible. Please note it would be preferable to talk to tenants who haven't received this information within the last two years.
In October 2010 the Peer Presenters Project won a Fire Awareness Award from the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Land and Management. The
peer presenters had undertaken 48 presentations and spoken to around 900 public tenants to raise awareness of fire safety in the home.
