There will be two sporting initiative programs aimed at the Carlton area by SWB.
These are:
1.Heart of Carlton
With Carlton Primary School, every Thursday afternoon from 3:30 – 5pm with soccer clinics run by Melbourne Heart staff, and volunteers from the University of Melbourne. 1 hour of playing and 30 minutes of fruit and water and talking about what you need to be a good sports person.
This program starts on Thursday October 18, running every Thursday until December 6 for the primary school children.
2.Carlton Community Sports Carnival
The second CCSC – building on the success of the first event at the University of Melbourne, we plan to hold another soccer tournament and sports carnival for the local communities. We’d like to have more families present, Athalia Zwartz, Executive Director Sports Without Borders said – this is being organised by Locally Trained youth leaders Liban and Shino with the support of volunteer students from the University of Melbourne.
When we have dates for the CCSC we will let you know.
