CHERS Manages the Local Carlton DHS Community spaces.
There are seven Community spaces (Rooms) which are frequently used by residents local agencies and others who want to provide services to the local community these Rooms play very important roles for the residents. Be it to together for socialising information sessions or as cool places when there is a heat wave. CHERS was managing originally 4 spaces but now only 3 which means there is a limitation of what is available for common community use (we no longer manage the 530 Lygon st ). Two Rooms ( 141 and 20 Elgin are like Offices) so we don't managed them yet formally. The new 38 Elgin st Community space is managed by the Local DHS office and is hardly used by any one since it was opened around a year ago. But the 3 managed by CHERS are utilised extensively, for example we have on record around 400 bookings since we started an online booking system 3 years ago. And in the last six months we had over 75 bookings of mixed permeant and casual bookings both by residents and local agencies and others too. |
