AFTER missing promotion by just three points last year, Melbourne University Soccer Club has started the 2012 season with renewed hope.Despite a slow start to the year – after four games they had just one win and were equal last on points – senior coach Sam Matheas says he is confident of turning things around. “It has started off slowly. We’re holding up the rest of the league at the moment,” he says of the club, which plays in the Division 3 North-West section of the Men’s State League. “But we’ve been competitive in all our games and we’re now establishing a side that’s starting to look a lot better.”

“Aussies just love their sport in general.”
