Are you interested in Men's Shed? come along to the Southbank Men's Shed discussion.

Last year, some members of the Southbank community showed interest in the development of a Men’s Shed in Southbank. Now, the City of Melbourne is keen to draw on this enthusiasm and experience and move to the next stage.
If you are keen in this initiative, It’d be great to have you at our next relaxed and informal meeting to meet key leaders from Men Shed groups across Victoria. They’ve found their experiences in setting up Men’s Sheds really rewarding, and they’re keen to share their knowledge with us.
As you probably know, there are heaps of Men’s Sheds across Victoria. They’re incredible simply as a practical space to work in and practice hobbies, but they’re also a proven way of reducing feelings of isolation. They’re also a lot of fun.
Agenda
Guest speakers to share experiences in what is involved in setting up a shed
Group discussion about Men’s Shed in Southbank and the next steps
Benefits
We’re looking for people who are keen to take up practical roles – whether large or small – in helping to set up the Men’s Shed. Even if it just means talking about why you want a Men’s Shed, and talking about your experiences – that’s still really valuable.
Guest speakers will be:
Paul Sladdin - Director - Victorian Men's Shed Association
John Gowlett - Heathdale Community and Neighbours Shed Coordinator (TBC)
Thomas Boon - Hobson's Bay Shed Coordinator
Mark Rak - Daylesford Men's Shed (TBC)
Date: Tuesday 10 July
Where: Boyd Centre, 207 City Rd, Southbank (Assembly Hall Rm).
When: 5.30 – 7.30pm
