Testimonials:

Picture
When Ia Cunliffe appeared out of nowhere ie no effort to find him or anyone else I was in Carlton trying to do what I now would have been impossible without Ian been sent for certain.

Because I was getting already frustrated and without the legal administrative and network/connection I would either given up or it would have consumed me without making any change for the better.

Indeed I soon got the help I needed of sympathetic hearing a sounding board of what I was thing was in fact right and not a just fantasy of mine only. I could mention a couple of grutation moments which some was not expecting some one of Ian's culapar to be helping us and so much committed too and not prepared to quit litely if ever.

I also learned so much from Ian in my writing skills when advocating by been more to the point and not waste time and energy on unhelpful explanations when you only want to put a point across. If one compares Ian and I we could not be more different in our background I am not talking material but allot of other ways which is quite obvious. But still we could not be more similar in our thinking and values.

Problems with Clear Networks Pty Ltd at 38 Elgin St,
Clear network no  VOIP phone

Dear Resident,

Ian Cunliffe a Senior Lawyer conducts a (free) Carlton Legal Service.  It is an arm of the Carlton Housing Estates Residents Services, Inc (CHERS), and especially helps public housing residents here in Carlton.

A number  residents of 38 Elgin Street have complained to the Carlton Legal Service that they were pressured to sign agreements with Clear Networks for telephone and internet services when they wore moving into the new 38 Elgin Street in 2014.

These residents have had very bad experiences and are now being pressured by
Clear Networks to pay further money.  I think the claims for money by Clear
Networks lack legal merit and have commenced action in VCAT against Clear Networks on behalf of those residents.

If you are having a similar experience, please feel free to come and see Ian the Lawyer.
He  attends the Carlton Legal Service each Monday and Friday from around 11am.

The Carlton Legal Service’s office is on the main estate in Lygon st , in the same area as Estate Computers and CHERS,  on the ground Floor of 510 Lygon Street.

If I am not there, speak to Mr Hamdi Ali of Estate Computers and CHERS to let me know you would like to meet with me. or kathy Richards our Volunteer office Manager.

You are also welcome to attend the legal service for other issues that we may be
able to help you with.

Yours faithfully

Carlton Legal Service

Future of valuable legal resource in doubt

FITZROY Legal Service is $200,000 short of being able to release its increasingly popular legal handbook, and has asked residents to petition the state government for support.

The centre's online campaign asks supporters to write to Attorney-General Robert Clark or sign postcards to be sent to the government.......
